Don’t Hate the Player

"In basketball, each team plays two guards, a center, and two forwards. In baseball, it’s three outfielders, four infielders, a catcher, and a pitcher. In football, there’re 11 on offense, 11 on defense, and 11 on special teams. In music, the team is made up quite similarly. And the only difference between the teams in sports and those in music is that in music they all have the ball at the same time."

Kenya realizes that there are some important parallels between the music industry and sports, and as she’s trying to figure out her next play to run with Tk’s career and pending album release, she pays a visit to her mentor, a former industry exec who shows her that there’s more than one way to be a player.
