Episode 1.4
take taj kamal
Life doesn’t come with an owner’s manual. For example, here’s what we’ve come up with in America as the formula to a happy life: 1. go to college (and of course, graduate), because 2. that’s how you get a great job 3. Gotta get nice stuff: like a car (basically add to the debt that college probably caused) 4. Oh, of course, before it’s too late, get married 5. Get a mortgage on a home (more debt) 6. Have kids because, yeah, you obviously know to rear another life, right? 7. Work for 40 years, save, then retire.
Figuratively speaking, some of us are Classical music types and others of use are Jazz music types. Maryam Said was always very much the Classical type. Even as a young girl, whenever she grabbed the Crayola box and went to work? Maryam never dared color outside the lines. Until… she did.
